For Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans, Trace Beaulieu and Frank Conniff require no introduction – but, we’re doing one anyway. Trace and Frank played the mad scientists (or “The Mads,” as they were affectionately known) on MST3K.
As a comedic duo, the Mads closed out most episodes with one of the series’ most iconic catch phrases, “Push the button, Frank” – an order issued, typically with a threatening tone, by Forrester to his right-hand lackey.
And now they’re back on the road, riffing movies across the U.S. as they screen some endearingly bad films and roast them, live-and-in-person, in the same style as their classic TV series.
THE MADS WILL BE RIFFING THE CLASSIC HORROR FILM THE TINGLER!
So what exactly is riffing? Have you ever watched a not so great movie and talked back to the screen? That’s riffing! It’s the art of making jokes, wisecracks, and clever commentary while watching less than Oscar-worthy films.
